Lasagna

The fork is just for show.
Grabbing a fist full of food works so much better.

Father's Day

Jason had a nice, relaxing Father's Day this year.
After church, we went to Jason's parents' house to visit. Then, Caden and Jason worked on some puzzles at home.
We all went outside to play later in the day.
It was another really nice day.

P.S. Abby still isn't a fan of grass. She has a new pose where she'll go on her hands, and then pop up her bottom so that her legs and knees aren't touching the grass...funny to see!

Preschool? No Worries!

Today Caden went to a summer program his preschool offers. It's a nice way for the newbies to get to know the teachers and become acquainted with the idea of being there themselves (and for parents too :) Well...we walked in, he gave me a nervous hug, and then went in and played. I picked him up an hour later, he walked out with a sand art that was all mixed by the time we got to the car, and we all were happy. It was quite easy on me since I knew he would be fine (right Mom?). He's been doing really well at Sunday School, so I figured preschool wouldn't be a problem although another mom went over a list of, "no biting, no hitting, no scratching, etc." with her daughter...that made me a little nervous.

Where Can I Sit?

Here are two of Abby's new favorite places to sit:

This is her new favorite spot (under the end table). She'll often grab a book and drag it over to this spot to read.

On The Phone

The other night Caden wanted to call Mammy, so once it started ringing, I handed over the phone. He didn't say "hello" right away, but once he did, he didn't stop talking...or walking :)

Who's that Cute Boy?

Caden loves dancing around in front of his reflection...quite amusing to watch.

Birthday Parties

The past two weekends, Caden has had two different birthday parties for friends that we met at the library. The first set of pictures were for Jacob's party, and the second set were for Max and Johnny. We had a great time at both!
All ready to go!

He's actually coughing and covering his mouth (not the reason why I took the picture though)...with his pirate mask on.
The boys/pirates :) - the birthday boy has the costume on
left-handed?
He had a blast on this truck...where he was most of the time.
They had water guns for the kids, and Caden had a great time with these too. There was another mother there telling her son, "Just spray the plants and bugs, not adults", so Caden said as I filled up his, "I know mom, just the plants, not adults." Nice that he listens to other moms too (probably better than me sometimes).

The following are Max and Jonny's birthday party:
He sat himself down to take a drink.
I love how Jacob and Caden are standing back, trying to figure out if they want to get wet or not. Luckily only shoes got wet.
Caden LOVED these water balloons (even though it never broke) ...and had a great time tossing to Jacob.

Caden (right in there with the cake) and the birthday boys, Max and Johnny.
We really enjoyed the cake and pumpkin cupcakes!
Caden was so excited for the pinata, but it broke before he got there.
He has trouble remembering to stay in line, so Jacob helped keep a hold of him...so cute!

They also did an egg toss...and the egg never broke either!
Posing with egg in hand.
They each took a turn stomping on it...still didn't break.
Finally Jacob's dad threw it in the air, and it broke when it landed.
Our last event was potato sack races. Caden ended up walking rather than hopping.

Sprinkler Fun

He didn't enjoy himself when we tried this last year...but he LOVES it now!

Leaf Rubbing

I personally can't stand Special Agent Oso on the Disney Channel, but of course Caden likes him. I do like the concept of teaching kids how to do things in "3 Special Steps" though. So, we did a leaf rubbing (I forgot how easy and fun these are) after a walk the other night after watching an Oso show, and he was able to do it all himself. That was nice!
Step 1: Place the leaves on a piece of paper (vein side up).

Step 2: Rub a crayon over your leaf.
(sorry so bright)

Step 3: Move the leaf around so that you can get many rubbings on 1 piece of paper.

Napping

I almost forgot about these pictures (taken on 5/19). My mom has a cute picture of me laying on top of a toy in my crib too. She woke up crying from this nap...must've been a little stiff.

Caden Says

Sometimes Caden will pick up a toy not realizing that Abby just had her mouth all over it. He'll then drop it and say, "Yuck! Abby's mouth water is on that toy!"

The kids both have a cold and runny nose right now (this might be a little gross). Anyhow, the other day Caden was picking at the side of his nose. I asked him what he was doing, and he said he was picking "the wood" (a.k.a. dried snot - or "snoot" - as we like to call it - sounds nicer than snot don't ya think?) that was on his nose.

The other day we were sitting at the kitchen table when Caden turned to me and said, "When I was in your belly, I could definitely see." I asked him what he could see, and his response was, "Food, like soup, juice, and oranges." Where does he come up with this stuff?

More Shaving Cream Fun

It's been about a year since we've last played with shaving cream, so I thought it might be nice to get it out the other morning while Abigail was napping. I also saw THIS idea on a friend's blog that would be fun too.

It was fun to have him come up with different words to describe it like, sticky, white, fluffy, and soft.
