Abby at 5 Months

Abigail turned 5 months yesterday!

Here are a few of the many things we love about her:
1. How she poses with her right hand up by her head before nursing or when I lay her down to rest.
2. The sweet smiles she continues to give us.
3. The many varieties of coos/squawks she makes.
4. The sound of her laugh.
5. Her ability to focus, grab, and play with things.
6. The fact that she's finally sleeping through the night (she ends up sleeping about 2/3 of the day with all her little naps too).
7. How excited she gets when she sees us in the morning. It's not just a smile, but the arms and legs go too.
8. How she responds to Abby or Abigail. She usually gives a bigger smile when she hears Abigail.
9. How she "watches" TV when I sit her up to burp her.
10. How she sometimes squeezes when her arms are around my neck.
11. How she gets so determined to reach for a toy that she gets her whole body moving, the bottom comes up, she wiggles her legs, etc.

Roba's Tree Farm

This past Sunday was Teacher Appreciation Day at Roba's Tree Farm where they got in free with a guest. A free trip plus nice weather? Why not? This time Jason's mom, Carole, joined us.

Abby in the driver's seat.
Pausing for a quick photo.
Checking out the bunnies in Bunnyville.
Dead end!
Last year we noticed a mini corn maze on out way out...so that was one of the first places we headed this time. It was plenty big for us.

Caden was soooo good all day. He had a great time.
Every time he found an ear of corn, he would leave it right in the middle of the path so others could see it too.
A quick shot.
A close up :)

Caden and Carole rode the hay ride while we walked.

The big jumping pillow - much safer than a trampoline :)
Not sure what he's doing here.

Action shot.

This picture is funny - you can see Jason's shirt through the window. I didn't notice that until just now.
They have a bunch of nice wooden play sets for kids...
and a sandbox.

Carole and Abby

Such a big girl!
For someone who wasn't crazy about pink (me)...she sure is wearing a lot of pink huh?
Caden and Daddy
They won a pumpkin at this pumpkin launcher when it landed in a tub.
Caden and I rode the Cattle Train this time together. I'm really not sure how Jason fit in with him last year.
Can't miss the triangle on Caden's forehead!

The seats were made out of big tubs...recycling at its best!
Picking out a pumpkin. These were actually bigger than the one he won.
Abby had enough by the time we left.

Caden at 30 months

Our "little" boy just had his 2 1/2 year appointment last night. We just can't believe he's that old already. He's very good at making us laugh and making us frustrated all within a few minutes of each other! Overall, he brings us much joy. We love you, buddy! Here are his stats from the doctors:

Height: 3 ft. 1.5 in.
Weight: 29 lbs. 12.8 oz.

Abby's Laughing List

Here are a few of the things Abby finds laugh-out-loud funny:
1. Caden dancing or acting silly
2. when I pull her arms out of her sleeves
3. the alphabet
4. when you creep up to her while she's in her swing
5. Itsy Bitsy Spider on her belly
6. Playing tug-of-war with her Daddy.
7. My mom's neighbor Terri (just listening to her talking).

Geometric Boo-boo

What a face...
If you're going to have a boo-boo in the middle of your forehead, why not make it a triangle?

Yummy Cereal

Abby had her first taste of cereal this past Sunday. It's so hard to believe she's old enough! It was a much more interesting experience then when I first fed Caden simply because I didn't have a curious older sibling right there with us. I know there are a lot of pictures, but they are taken over the course of a few days.

We thought we'd try her in the Bumbo on the floor because we weren't sure that she'd be able to sit up in the high chair yet. As you can see, Caden was right there too. He told Abby that she had to open her mouth.

All ready...well, almost...notice anything missing?
I then remembered a bib...
"Umm...I'm not sure about this..."
She really got the hang of it quickly.

At this point I realized why it was so easy to feed her...I had her poor little hands pinned under the Bumbo tray :)
At least I don't have to worry about any food going to waste. Caden was more than ready to finish the rest of the cereal. Actually, he stood there with his mouth open most of the time.

"Where'd he go?"
"Was I done with that?"
Day #2 - yummy!
Notice the bib and the hands are out...I was more observant this time.

Who needs cereal when a bib is just as good?
Day #3 - before food entertainment - Caden shared all his magnets with her.
Our baby girl is growing up!
