Easter Egg Hunt(s)

Last Saturday (a chilly day unfortunately), we went to an Easter Egg Hunt that the Family Center (the organization that provides the teacher that comes to the house) set up. We were thinking an actual hunt (it was more like a one-egg-hunt), so we had like 5 eggs when really we were only supposed to find one and get a prize. Now we know! The faceless kid in the gray hat is ours :) I just realized I didn't get his face in any of these pictures!

Waiting patiently for the prize...
a lamb.
The Easter Bunny with Caden and Daddy. He liked the Easter Bunny a whole lot more than Santa!
So since the other one wasn't really a hunt, we had our own in the backyard.

He had so much fun that he decided to throw them for himself.

Pamper Pile-up Party

Jason's kind and thoughtful teachers at his school threw us a "Pamper Party" yesterday. He also brought home a lot of cake which will probably be gone very soon. Anyhow, here are some pictures of the goodies from the party. I always feel a little more ready for the baby after their party - thank you everyone! It's really great that they throw one for the 2nd child!

Caden had a blast putting them into a pile.

Of course he had to pose with the pile.
I'm not sure if he enjoyed piling the diapers or playing in the big box more.

(Still playing with the box today.)

"Time to Come In!"

We tried to go out on one of the cooler/sunny days last week, but it was just too cold. After being out only 15 min or so, I had a little trouble getting him back in...

He's saying, "Nope, nope, nope" in this picture which is the word that comes out of his mouth most often lately.

White Dinosaurs

A few weeks ago (when we still had snow) Caden looked out the window at lunch time and said he saw a dinosaur in our backyard. I thought I'd play along and just started asking questions like how many and what color. He told me there were two, a mom and a boy, and that they were white (I'm guessing the snow had something to do with the color). Since then, these dinosaurs have appeared a few more times, one being this morning. This time there was a mommy, daddy, and a little boy. They were watching Caden eat, and now they are eating our grass. It's so funny that he has an imagination like this and knows to pretend.

Missing the Weather

With 33 degree weather today, we are really missing the weather from last weekend. At least we were able to get out and enjoy it then. These are pictures from last weekend where we were able to try out Caden's wagon from Pappy D and the bike that Caden's Aunt Ju-Ju gave us that her kids used to play with.

Caden took a break from riding his bike to check out the water thing.

Conversations with Caden

It is so fun having a talking 2 year-old around. The other day he had to go in time out for pushing buttons on the DVD player. When his time was up, I asked him why he was in time out. He said, "Push buttons DVD player on purpose." I guess he's learning the difference between "on purpose" and "by accident." Then, later that night I went to check on him because it was after 9, and he was still awake. When I walked in, he said, "Mommy all dressed!" which is what he says in the morning when I get him up (he must have thought he slept and it was morning?). Then he put his hands on my belly and said, "Sunshine still in there!" So fun!

Sunshine Update

I had an appointment today, and Sunshine is measuring a little small. So, that means that we get to have another ultrasound done soon - next Wednesday actually :) We're praying all is well. The midwife didn't seem too worried since the heartbeat is fine, and she felt a lot of movement. As soon as I know what's going on, I'll share.

Peanut Butter

I know it may seem silly that we're making a big deal out of this...but...he's been asking for peanut butter for a long time now. His doctor recommended waiting until 2 just incase he would have an allergy.

First Taste - his response was "mmmm"

A little sticky...
First bite on a sandwich.
"Yup, I'm liking this!"

A Day in the Life of a 2 Year Old

I'm only a week late with these...but these were taken on his actual birthday.

He started off the day with building a "moo-moo" for me... (I think it might be upside down?)

and one for him.
Then when Daddy came home, he opened a gift that we saved for him.

The day ended with a nice relaxing bath.
After I took this picture, he said, "good one." I guess he hears that a lot after I take a picture of him :)
Showing off his lizard towel which was a Christmas present from Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Jeff.

Too cute!

Smoked Kielbasa/Sausage Skillet

Here's another delicious one from my mom:

1 lb. fully cooked kielbasa (we like the kielbasa personally) or Polish sausage, sliced
3 cups shredded cabbage
1 celery rib, finely chopped
2 Tbs. vegetable oil
2 Tbs. Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/4 tsp. rubbed sage (which I never use)
2 cups cooked noodles (less than 1/2 a bag)

In large skillet, saute kielbasa/sausage , cabbage and celery in oil for 5 minutes. Add mustard, garlic salt and sage. Cook and stir over medium heat for 4-6 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Stir in noodles and heat through.

Happy Spring!

Happy 1st day of Spring!
These pictures were taken on Wednesday, just one of the really nice days this week. I was in the picture taking mood (when am I not?). We are so ready for Spring. Caden keeps asking to go outside to play, except the other day he asked for Aunt Ju-Ju and the kids to bring snow (he said, "fingers crossed" and everything) since they had a lot in their area.

He's trying to cup his hand over his eyes like you do when you are trying to block the sun to see...something I showed him the other day.

A goofy picture...

He got this bubble blower for his birthday from us, but I think we're returning it. It doesn't work as well as we hoped.
