More Nasal Aspirator Please

Ok, so maybe he doesn't say "nasal aspirator", but he does want more. Since we've been using it the past couple days he's been asking for more and stands perfectly still while using it, and that's a good thing.

Updates

Caden had his 18 month appointment on Thursday. He's now up to 33 inches and 24 lbs 2.4 oz. He sure is growing and fast! Good news is that he doesn't have to go back until 24 months, and no shots for a long while! Too bad he's too young to understand that.

I had my 2nd baby appointment on Friday (13 weeks 1 day) and was able to hear the heartbeat for the first time. I thought last time she mentioned maybe doing an ultrasound just to see exactly how far along I am, but no such luck. I guess I have to wait a little to see my little peanut for the first time. By the way, we will not be finding out the gender once again.

The final update - I left my camera at my mom's house. I can't believe I did that (blame it on the pregnancy brain and catching whatever Jason had)! So, there might not be many updates unless we can figure out a way to get it before next month...

Unins

Yup, our little bug is playing with "unins."

Pizza Hut Pan Pizza

I have been craving Pizza Hut pan pizza all week, bascially since I had some last Thurs. I don't know what it is about that pizza, but it's so yummy (and was also a craving while pregnant with Caden)! Jason is getting tired of hearing about it each night, so last night he told me to "change" my craving to something we have in the house. If only it were that easy...

"Hi-ya Grandma"

This is what Caden looks like when he's talking to you, Grandma, on the phone.

I guess he got tired of listening.

Caden's First Sentence?

I think this counts as a first sentence:
"Mor mor mor, bu bu, peas!"
(More books please!)
He says this when he gets up in the morning and when he gets up from a nap. You'd think he'd be hungry, but he just wants to sit in his crib and read through his books.

18 Months Old (yesterday)

"Thanks Grandma and Aunt Erin for my gift!"

Talk about a pose...I told him to come over next to his box and he put his head right down and looked up at me like this. He's such a ham!

"WOW! Coloring books!"
Each time he opened something he made an ohhh sound.

"TaDoodles!"

"It's hard to take my eyes off of Sesame Street."

"I guess I'll just have to color without watching what I'm doing."

Now the trick is to keep him drawing on the paper...

Other things our bug is up to:
- he says mmmmmm whenever I put dinner on the table, no matter what it is
- he's obsessed with babies now...points them out in magazines, when we're out shopping, points to pictures of himself and says, "baby", and points to my belly too
- he loves the Pennsylvania Lottery - he'll stand there and yell 2 the whole time at the TV (at least it sounds like 2)
- he nods yes and shakes his head no, and it usually makes sense with whatever we asked or said - like, can I change your diaper...he'll shake his head no, and he means it!
- he tells you where to sit by patting the seat and nodding yes
- he loves to help put groceries away, especially cans

Where's Caden?

Where's Caden?

Just hanging out next to the radio. Who wouldn't want to hang out there?

Beets

Last time my mom and sister came to visit, they brought along some beets from my grandma and pappy's garden. Caden LOVED them...even dipped in ketchup!

Cousins

Caden had a great time when his cousins, Aunt Justine, and Uncle Randy came to visit last weekend.

"Thanks for the hand Aunt Justine!"

Christopher

This is pretty much what Caden did the whole time...just stood back and watched all the action.

I love this one with him in the corner watching everything. Watch out, here comes Cori.

It was really nice of Katie to get on the whale with Caden.

Matthew

"What am I supposed to do?"

"Thanks Uncle Randy!"

I love this one too with Katie.

Brooks' House

The other weekend we went to Jason's brother's new house. It's a really nice place.

While Daddy was outside working, Caden and I had some fun playing in the house. This is the new smile we've been getting from him.

Here he is taking a short rest under/on the island in the kitchen.

All packed up and ready to go.

Baby

I have been mentioning the baby to Caden every once in awhile and showing him where the baby is. Today we were talking about the baby. He lifted up his shirt, pointed to his belly, and said, "Baby." I guess he doesn't quite get it yet.

Our Big News

Caden is going to be a big brother April 1st, and that's not a joke :)

Kisses for Dada

Last week, Caden learned how to make the kiss sound. I always make that sound when I leave his room after putting him down for a nap or for bed. It was so great when he started doing it back to me until...for some reason he now makes the sound and says "Dada" and points to the door. So each night Jason comes in and he gives a kiss to his dad. Do you think he gives me one? NOPE! I have to almost beg for one! He even pushed me away so that his dad can get to him.

"After the ducks, Mama took me to the jugle gym to play. She was right behind me the whole time. She said there were too many holes to fall out of (note the first picture)."

" At the top of a really fun slide. As you can see here, I'm ready to go!"

"It looks like I'm pulling Mama down the stairs. I might be going up backwards...hard to tell."

"Boy, am I having fun!"

"This is at the top of the dinosaur stairs."

"This is not a flattering picture of me. Mama had to carry me away from the gym...I kept turning around and running back."

"OK, an even less flattering picture. As you can see, I was quite upset that we had to leave!"
