Mother's Day

The day before Mother's Day Abigail and I made a day trip to New Columbia.  My mom's church always had a Mother/Daughter Banquet for the past I don't know how many years.  Then this year they decided to cancel it.  I had already planned on making the trip with Abigail, so we decided to still go.  The five of us had a nice dinner at Country Cupboard that afternoon.

I think I was chasing after Abigail when this picture was taken, but I thought it was still a good one.

Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's Day full of fun and family. It went something like this:
Abigail opened my card for me.

After church, we went to Frances Slocum State Park where Caden had a great time at the playground.

On to a picnic lunch.

Caden found a tree to inspect.

Finally, we went on a little hike by the lake.
(Isn't she beautiful?)
Caden had a great time throwing sticks into the lake.
Caden with his walking stick/fishing pole, at least that's what he wanted it to be. He kept asking to go fishing. Abigail started ripping her hat off and giggling about it after this picture.

The day wrapped up with the pajama clad kiddos visiting with Nana and Papa.
This was a "hand" made gift that Caden made with his teacher, Mr. John. The flower part is his hand print.

My Mother's Day

I had a nice, relaxing Mother's Day this past Sunday. We got Subway for dinner since I hadn't really eaten cold meat in about 9 months. It was soooo good!
Caden colored his card from him and Abby for me. Here he is actually coloring cards for Mammy, GG, and Nana (which they have yet to receive - oops!)

Me and my girl.
An attempt at getting a picture of the 3 of us.
Another try...
OK...good enough.
Caden and Abby posing with my card.

I think I heard, "Happy Mother's Day, Mom" at least 50 times that day...so sweet! He said, "love you" right after Jason turned the camera off.

Happy Mother's Day!

Mother's Day through the generations.

A "nice" windy day. Caden just discovered the tree.

My mom thought the noises we were making to get Caden's attention were pretty funny.

More wind.

Proof that Caden and Lexi grew on each other.

For my 2nd Mother's Day, Caden created this original with his Daddy while I was out with my mom, sister, and grandma for a Mother-Daughter Banquet that our church back home has each year. I think he was making some last minute adjustments here.

A close-up of the Caden original.

A year ago today...

I loved this little outfit. He wore it for Mother's Day, his cousin's 1st Holy Communion, and his Nana's 60th birthday party.

Flashback to...

May 11th, my first Mother's Day. Caden gave me a book titled If Mom Had Three Arms. It was also one of Caden's first (but definitely not last) photo shoots. I love that little outfit ($1 at a yard sale). He wore that for many occasions!
