Knoebels

On Aug. 3rd, we decided to go to Knoebels before going to my mom's to celebrate her birthday.
Our first ride was the motor boats which Caden wanted to drive.  Well...J and I of course had to help, but Caden kept saying, "I've got this!  Let me do it by myself."  He ended up fussing (and we ended up laughing) the whole ride because it's just not one of those rides he can do himself!
So stylish with her shades on!
He was just a blur in that hand powered ride.  He loved it!
Caden kept asking to go on the ferris wheel but J and I kept telling him that he won't be doing that any time soon with us.  Then we found one just his size.
Another very fussy ride for Caden because the car was not blue.  Abby had a blast though!  As soon as the car took off she got this big smile on her face.
Abby rode the kiddie whip by herself while Caden waited in line for the bumper cars.
 Notice the blue car???

Elephant Rug

Caden's GG made this really nice elephant latch-hook rug for him.  I think it took about 3 years of working just in the winter months, but she finished it in June :).  Since we made the mistake of saying "rug" he wanted it on the floor all the while we were thinking of hanging it on the wall.  So, we had him paint the dowel rod hoping he would be OK with the idea of having it on the wall.  It helped I think.

Tree Climbing

Caden has been talking about wanting to climb a tree for a while now.  We finally found one, and it's right in GG's yard!  I think we found a new favorite spot to play.

"Obleck"

The kids had a good time playing with "oobleck" the other day.  If you never played with it before...we highly recommend it!  It's very different!  Caden was a little unsure, but Abby dug right in.  Click (HERE) to see where I found out about it.  Caden seemed to enjoy the Dr. Seuss book too.  Abby figured out how fun it was to squeeze some in your hand and then release it.  It goes from solid to liquid really quickly.

Story Time with Abigail

Abigail's newest thing to do before she falls asleep, or after, is to set up all her animals for story time.  (Just so I remember - she has her pajama top on because that day she decided to strip down to her diaper and only wanted to put her pajamas on before her nap.  I was able to talk her into putting her shorts back on, but allowed the top.  She's so opinionated!)

"Oh, Caden!  Do you want to listen too?"
Story Time with Abigail isn't just for babies and stuffed animals!

A Visit With Zoey

Last Tuesday Mom and Erin came for a visit with our friend, Mrs. Splane, and her great-granddaughter, Zoey!  It was fun having a baby in the house again.  Abigail LOVED it!

Abby kept trying to hold Zoey by herself, like she would with her babies.  Mom told me that Abby threw a silent little fit when she had to keep telling her that she couldn't pick up the baby.  She laid down on her belly, and kicked her feet a few times but said nothing :)

There, now she's "holding" Zoey!  You can see her arm wrapped around Zoey :)  As you can see, she's the sweetest, "smilest", baby!  She only cried when Splane wasn't feeding her fast enough.
Abby had to of course try out the play mat and kick her feet up like Zoey.
She got a kick out of Caden.

Abby wasn't too thrilled that I had Zoey on my lap...

You may have noticed that Abigail has different clothes on in this picture.  If you asked Abby what happend, she would say, "Baby, wet!"  Zoey spit up on Abby's skirt which my mom washed off, but of course Abby couldn't put on a wet skirt!  The shirt was fine, but that had to be changed too.
Oh - also in this picture...Abby shared Funny Bunny with her for a second.

Thanks Splane for bringing Zoey, Mom, and Erin for a visit!  We all had a great time.

Stairs

The Set Up:

Caden:  "Mom, we're not ready yet!"

The Pose:

Ok Abby, what's with the face?
Caden, a little smile won't hurt ya!
 Better...
 Worse...
It'll do!
