Just Enough Room

Ever since getting "Rory", "Charlie", and "George" for Christmas, Caden now loves stuffed animals. He asks for all different ones out of his toy box for nap time.

So, when I went to check on him last week...this is what I found:

Dishwasher

"OK...I hear water, but I don't see any water."

Caden's Teacher

I signed Caden up for a free program through our school district where a teacher will come to the house twice a week and play/work with him (thanks again Kim for telling me about it). He just loves having the extra attention. She loves that he can say her name:) When he first met his teacher 2 weeks ago, he tiptoed over to her. She asked him if he wanted to sit on her lap. That's all it took for a bond to form. She brought along puzzles, balls, and books to read with him. She was impressed with how quickly he did things and his language development. He even told her the correct colors to things which I think he just figured out not too long ago. Every once in awhile he gets his colors mixed up, but he's doing really well. They also have play groups which I'm looking forward to too!

Help with Watering

After I watered the plants the other day, Caden thought they needed a little more "water". First he figured out that he couldn't reach the shelf, so he ran and got his step stool. Then it took careful planning on his part to get up on the step stool with watering can in hand. If you look closely, he was watering with magnets and Mega Bloks.

Frustrating Computer

So, a guy finally came today to look at the computer. All I did was turned it on. I didn't want to try connecting to anything although I'm thinking now that I should have tried. The guy sat down and opened up every website he tried to open, no problem! I asked him to search around a little, and still no problems. That makes me mad! Oh well, I guess all that matters is that it's working now. I just need to catch up on posts now.
BTW - Caden was very hospitable and offered the nice guy a graham cracker :) I was a little embarrassed though when Caden said, "Big guy" and stretched his arms out wide when he got up from the computer (he was a little husky). It's hard to know what to say in those moments - so I said nothing...and I know they are just beginning.

Throwing Ears

The computer seems to be temporarily working...so here's a little post. For some reason Caden has started to pretend to pull his ear off and then throw it. He will also take your ear off and throw it. Luckily he pays attention to where it lands. Mine landed in George, the elephant's, mouth the other day. Fortunately, he's very willing to go get your ear and put it back on.

Computer Glitches

We seem to be having some computer trouble...so as soon as we get it figured out, I'll post more.

Sunshine Update

I just had an appointment for baby Sunshine. I measured exactly 26 weeks (which I was yesterday), my weight gain looks good (no problems for me there!), my blood pressure was good, etc. I haven't had any swelling, and overall have just been feeling good. Sunshine's heart beat was a strong 150, and he/she even gave a little kick for the doctor when he was done listening to the heart beat. After my next appointment I'll be starting to go every 2 weeks. This pregnancy is just flying by! The next thing I have to look forward to is drinking that yummy orange drink and sitting for an hour to see if I am diabetic or not...can't wait!

Other Sunshine info:
- Sunshine seems to enjoy it when I eat as much as I do. That's when I feel the most movement.
- I'm a little worried about the amount of hair Sunshine will have. I haven't been getting heartburn as bad as I did with Caden who had lots of hair.

A Boy and A Tiger

Here are a few pictures of Caden with "Charlie" the tiger. It was soon discovered that "George" the elephant "fit" into the crib with him, so that's where he's been the past few days.

A Secret

I discovered yesterday that Caden cannot keep a secret. Of course I figured at much, but I just wanted to see what he would do. All that happened was I knocked Jason's sweatshirt off the chair onto the floor in the kitchen. I told Caden "shhh - it's our secret - don't tell Daddy his sweatshirt was on the floor." You can see what happened when Daddy came home.

At then very end you can hear what he calls himself. It sounds a little like "Kay-Kay". The stuffed animal a.k.a. "Rory" is the gift he got from Santa at our town's Christmas Party.

Visitors

My mom, sister, and Grandma came to visit on January 2 for the day. Caden loved showing off his new toys, especially all the play food and dishes.

"Mommy, I'm trying to be very careful with the food on this plate, can't smile right now."

Gotta love group family shots. Who knows what Grandma is doing. I guess she was looking at whatever Caden was looking at.

Tent

The tunnel that Caden got from Aunt Erin also had a tent to go with it. We set that up the other night just to see what it looked like. As you can see...Caden LOVED it! It was very hard to get his picture while playing.

You can see the bent frame already...my fault.

Sunshine at 24 Weeks

This picture was taken on New Year's Eve before we left for Brooks' house (Jason's brother). That would make it 24 weeks and 1 day. Jason has specific instructions to get just the belly up for these pictures, but he got a little close to cutting off my belly this time. I guess we need to work on it!

Christmas Craft

I want to do a craft with Caden and his brother/sister each year for Christmas. I found a nice, simple one at AC Moore that was made of foam and stickers. We helped him with the first two, but the last 4 we decided to let him do his own. I had to wait on this post since the craft was a Christmas present for some family.

He just started cheering out of the blue - guess he was having a good time!
