Abigail at 4 Months
Our baby girl (aka Happy Abby) turned 4 months old yesterday. She's been up to a lot lately. Her main goal in life right now is putting as much as she can into her mouth. Her favorites are my fingers or her Daddy's fingers. She focusing on everything now. My frog pj's (the same ones that are proud of Caden going to the potty) are a favorite along with my watch. She always trying to grab them. She continues to "talk" constantly. Her smile brightens up my day. She is now able to roll over (and has been for over 2 weeks now) - I'll post more on that later. We discovered she's not too crazy about large groups. I love how excited she gets when we read to her. She's a pro at napping a good hour to hour and a half before eating, and eating about every 3 hours or so. She always lets me know when she's tired with a little fuss, I lay her down, she smiles (or lets out a good cry), and she's asleep within the next few minutes. She's such a great baby! Her brother brings her lots of joy. He's the best at making her laugh. We can't wait to see what she'll be up to this month.

Shaving Cream Fun
It looked like way too much fun to not try. By the way...it is as much fun as it looks. |
I love the look on his face. |
I left the room and came back to this. |

Pittston Tomato Festival
We have never been to the Pittston Tomato Festival, so we thought we'd finally try this year. We watched the parade this past Saturday, and then ate at the festival (which is pretty much all yummy food). Caden loved the parade and actually sat still for the whole thing.
This is what Caden has started to do when he hears a noise...he'll hold his hand up to his ear. I think this was at the beginning when he heard the sirens. |
This is when the sirens got closer :) |
He clapped and waved pretty much the whole parade. He also pointed to the candy that was thrown so that I could get it for him. I don't know how, but I completely forgot they threw candy. |
Abby tried to chew on her carseat buckle. Then she just decided to take a nap. She slept all through the bands and sirens. |
Some strange sights were seen at the parade...like these people dressed as tomatoes. |
I can't say I've ever seen a pink stretch Hummer limo before... |

Train Whistles
I have been fortunate enough to have lived near train tracks most of my life. I find something comforting in the sound of a train whistle. Well, the other early morning while nursing Abby, a train whistle blew. She stopped and looked at me and smiled. I have a feeling she's going to learn to love a train whistle too.
The Letter B
Caden officially has a favorite letter, the letter "B". We're not sure why it's his favorite or how it came to be, but he will tell you when asked, "The letter B is my favorite letter in the alphabet." I'm thinking it's because it's his last initial, but I'm not positive. The other day he walked into the kitchen and said he lost his letter B. I took the magnet off the fridge with the letter B on it, and he said, "Oh, thanks" and walked away with it. He's funny.

Double Baptism
Last Sunday (8/8) we baptized our kids at my "home" church (Trinity United Methodist) in New Columbia. We've been looking for a church around where we live now, but have yet to find one we really like. So, we decided to do them together in Newky. It was a beautiful service and a beautiful day.
Caden, me, Pastor Wayne, Jason, and Abigail
Side note - The gown Abigail is wearing was Carole's sister's wedding gown from 47 years ago. Other family members made it into a christening gown for Carole's family. Jason and his siblings and cousins were all christened in it. Abigail was the first to be baptized.

Side note - This is a great place to rent for only $50 if you ever need a place for a baby shower, bridal shower, etc. (that's what I've used it for). It has a nice, large kitchen, many tables/chairs, and is a great size to hold a decent amount of people. If you are interested in renting it, let me know, and I'll let you know who to contact.

GBMC
Abigial's 3 month book came in the mail yesterday along with a CD with songs with her name in them. I remember as a kid my sister, Erin, had a tape with songs that had her name in them. I was always a little jealous that she had a tape with her name, and I didn't! Anyhow, thanks Mammy for the book and CD. Thanks too for Caden's puzzle.
Potty Training Update
Today was Caden's first full day with "Big Boy Underwear". I don't want to jinx it, but he did very well today (only 1 accident). Fingers crossed for many more good days!

Knoebels
We finally got the chance to take the kids to Knoebels on Aug. 2. Caden was there last when he was 4 months old. We decided to go there on our way home from my mom's. Mom and Erin joined us for the day. It was such nice weather, not too hot. Funny thing, we ran into the Smith Family there. It was only their 7th or 8th time this summer.
The kiddie boats was Caden's first ride. He fell asleep on the way over, so I don't think he was fully awake for the first few rides we put him on. He didn't smile much, so we couldn't tell if he was having fun or not. This little boy was cute. He smiled at us as we were walking around looking for a boat. I thought he looked nice, so I put Caden on with him. He showed Caden how to work the bell which he held on to the whole time. I was so afraid that he would get up before the ride was over, but he actually listened to me and sat the whole time on every ride. He was great!
This was the second ride...again still not really awake. This time he had two wheels to hold on to, so I think he was just really concentrating.
We weren't able to get 4 seats all in a row, so Erin had to sit a little behind us. I don't think she minded too much.
Jason was ready to put him on the horses that go up and down, but he didn't want to get on them. He cried when he got off this one, wanting to go back on.
I was also worried about the ones that went up in the air...again afraid he would get out, but like I said, he was great!
