Caden is 3!

A Day in the Life of a Three Year Old
Caden's third birthday began with a little confusion. I heard, "Mommy?? Mommy??" at around 7 this morning. When I walked in, he asked, "Why are there balloons hanging from my bed?" I guess he forgot it was his birthday :) When he realized it was his birthday, he wanted to go downstairs right away. We were a little confused as to why at first.

Such joy from 3 little balloons!
Opening the first gift of the day - Mater's Tall Tales
It was shortly after this that he asked to go downstairs again, so I let him take his balloons down. When he didn't come back up right away, Abby and I went to check on him. He was saying, "Where are they? I can't find them." I asked him what he was looking for, and he said, "The people!" Poor kid thought his party was today too and was looking for our family! He was almost in tears when he realized no one was there...I felt so bad! Luckily his day got better from there...couldn't get any worse in his eyes!
Checking out some b-day decorations.
Our first game of Candy Land though he has played with Mr. John - his teacher - before (played while Abby was sleeping).
Watching "Mater Ones" as he calls them. When I asked him if he wanted to watch his new movie, he said, "You don't usually let me watch a movie during the day" with a big smile on his face.
Favorite lunch...PB&J (crusts cut off), grapefruit (any fruit will do), and goldfish.
Taking an afternoon nap (thank you Caden!) after going to Wal-Mart and to the library for some new books and coloring fun.
Excited for extra supper surprises. I think he was a little upset too that he has to wait until Saturday for cake...so Jason bought him a different dessert.
His b-day supper request: hot dogs in front of the TV...watching Mater Tall Tales yet again.
Checking out a birthday cards from Mammy and Aunt Erin.
A little more coloring.
Playing Chutes and Ladders (a personal favorite of mine that I played with my grandma) with Daddy...and Abby :)
Abby checking out the parts to the game.
And finally, the day winds down with a nice, relaxing bath.
Happy 3rd Birthday, Caden! We love you so much!

Side note: Abby decided to start crawling today on her hands and knees, though she only took one "step" and then flopped a few times. Caden said, "I thought she was going to do that on my birthday!"
