A Trip to Hillside Farm

Last Friday we took a trip to the Hillside Farm with the Family Center group. Caden was so excited. He wanted to see pigs playing in the mud and cows with udders (not sure how he remembers that word), and he wanted to feed the animals. We did see lots of cows since it's a dairy farm, but there weren't any pigs! He had a great time anyhow. They finished up the tour on a nice hot day with a nice little bowl of ice cream.

We learned something while at the farm...Jason isn't comfortable. Jason was holding him before this picture was taken, and he said, "Daddy's not comfortable. He's not soft. I want to go to Mama." That implies that I am soft...not sure how I feel about that one!

Abby was awake at the beginning of the tour.
Caden did a great job staying with us and holding my hand (as you can see).
Can you find Jason and Abby?

Caden was checking out a little bench like the one he got from Pappy D. this one had cats and dogs on the back though.
Sitting and watching the ducks play in the water.
I think he stayed still for so long because he was sitting next to a girl.
Checking out a goose from a distance.

Feeding the chickens.
I'm so glad they were able to feed some animals since that's all he talked about before we got there.
He's telling me, "The chickens are saying gak, gak." He got a little confused with animal sounds.
Feeding the hens.
Checking out the sheep and goats.
Now he's telling me that they are mooing at him...see what I mean about being a little confused :)
Abby with the very large horses.

Great, Great pictures. I am thinking Caden felt the tension in Jason's body. He knew he wasn't relaxed. Looks like it was a beautiful place. Looks like Caden had a great time with the animals.

Looks like a good time! Anna does the same thing with the animal sounds! She does them correctly when looking at pictures but when we see them in real life she mixes them up too!
