Say Please & Checkup

Today Abigail has started saying please, or in her words, "meeeee" or "meeeees". Anyway, it works! She hasn't been saying much, so we're hoping by Christmas there will be more to her little list of words she says.

She had her 18 month well-baby visit this afternoon. She has grown, but she's still nowhere near average. At least she has a pretty good jump in weight. If you look at weight and height combined, she's in the 5th percentile...our little peanut! I think we'll keep her rear facing in the car since that's what's recommended now, even though she finally hit 20 lbs.

Height: 31.25 in.

Weight: 20 lbs. 1.5 oz.

Abby's Checkup

Abby had her well-baby visit last week, and guess what...she didn't grow much at all. I actually wasn't surprised. So she's now on a "weight gaining program" just like her brother. I'm not sure what happens between months 9 and 12 with my kids! Oh well, she's great other than that. Here are her stats:

Height: 28 inches
Weight: 16 lbs. 10.2 oz.

I almost forgot...while we were waiting for the doctor to come in, Abby was giving me high fives, I was pretending they hurt, and she would giggle. Anyhow, after she got bored with that, we counted the Tinker Bell stickers on the wall. There were five, so I kept saying, "five, five". Next thing I know, she slaps me in the face. I think she wanted to give me five and since my hand wasn't out, my face was the next best thing.

Abby's Checkup

Abby had her 9 month well baby visit on Tuesday evening. She's doing well, but her weight is only in the 10th %tile (you wouldn't guess that if you saw her thighs :). Her height is right around 50th %tile. She handled the finger prick really well (much better than her brother :). Here are her stats:

Weight: 16 lbs. 8.8 oz.
Height: 27.5 inches

Abby's 6 Month Checkup

Abby had her 6 month well baby visit last night. She started off OK, but then started screaming when we put her on the scale (Caden hated that too) and pretty much continued to scream off and on the whole visit. Oh well, I'm used to it! Here are her stats:

Weight: 15 lbs. 1.2 oz.
Height: 26 in.

Abby's 4 Month Checkup

Abigail had her 4 month Dr. visit yesterday.  Everything is going well.  She handled the shots very well, letting out a few cries but stopping within a few minutes.  She gave the doctor and nurse a few smiles (no surprise there).  Here are her stats:

Weight: 13 lbs. 5.5 oz.

Height:  25 in.

Abby at 2 Months

Wow, 2 months old already! She had her 2 month appointment today. She did pretty well with the shots. She didn't even cry after the first one...but the second one wasn't fun. She was a little fussy in the evening, but not too bad. She now weighs 10 lbs. 14.2 oz. (53rd %tile) and is 23.75 in (92 %tile - or a "long baby" as her Dr. said).

Abby spends her days either smiling and cooing at us or her bugs on her bouncer (as seen above) or just giving me really intense looks like when she was in her swing. She is awake a LOT more now, which is really nice. Her brother has been talking to her more lately which she really enjoys. She also enjoys turning in a complete circle while at her play gym. She loves to sleep on her left side with her head extended all the way back - doesn't look comfortable to me but whatever works for her! I'm letting her go 6 hours between meals at night which means I feed her at 10 p.m., 4 a.m., and then we get up around 7:30 a.m. She is just such a good baby! We're so lucky.

Abigail's 1 Month Dr. Visit

Abigail went for her official 1 month check up yesterday. She finally lost her cord on Monday (yea), so she had her first tub bath that evening (pictures to come). She did have to get a shot which she did well with. She didn't react at first, but then let out a good cry. It didn't take much to calm her down though. The doctor said she looks really great, except her belly button is all black from the silver nitrate. That supposedly will take some time to go away. Here are her stats:

Height: 21.85 in.
Weight: 9 lbs. 5.9 oz.

Our Not So Little Girl

We had to take Abigail in to the doctors today to have her cord cauterized, poor girl. Just like Caden, her cord is still attached after a month (his luckily fell off on its own). Anyhow, they weighed her, and she is now 9 lbs. 0.4 oz.! I knew she was getting bigger!

Abigail 2 Weeks

We had Abby's 2 week weight check (well...one day short of 2 weeks), and she weighed in at 7 lbs. 10 oz.! Yea! We needed her to be at least at birth weight. We're so thankful she's doing well. Jason was able to take off today for the appointment. Monday was my first day by myself, and thankfully we all survived :)

Abigail 1 Week

Hard to believe but Abigail turned 1 week yesterday. She had a doctor appointment, and she gained 4 oz. since leaving the hospital. She dropped to 7 lbs. 1 oz. before we left the hospital. We have a weight check next Wed. to make sure she gets back up to birth weight. So far she's a great sleeper during the day and night. She's very pleasant, only crying when she's hungry. We love having her around! I have a bunch of pictures to add, but I'm having trouble doing so. Hopefully there will be updated pictures soon.
